Class 2 Gases

AS 4332
This class comprises compressed gases, dissolved gases, liquefied gases, refrigerated liquefied gases, mixtures of one or more gases with one or more vapours of substances of other classes, articles charged with a gas and aerosols. Substances of this class are assigned to one of the three following divisions based on the primary hazard of the gas. 2.1 Flammable gases, 2.2 Non Flammable, Non Toxic Gases, 2.3 Toxic gases

flammable-liquid3

Class 3 Flammable Liquid

AS 1940
These are liquids, or mixtures of liquids containing solids in solution or suspension (for example, paints, varnishes, lacquers, etc., but not including substances otherwise classified on account of their dangerous characteristics) which gives off a flammable vapour at temperatures of not more than 60°C, closed cup test, or not more than 65.6°C, open cup test, normally referred to as the flash point.

class51

Class - 5.1 Oxidising Agents

AS 4326
Substances which, while in themselves not necessarily combustible, may, generally by yielding oxygen, cause, or contribute to, the combustion of other material. Such substances may be contained in an article.

class52

Class 5.2 - Organic Peroxides

AS 2714
Organic substances which contain the bivalent -0-0- structure and may be considered derivatives of hydrogen peroxide, where one or both of the hydrogen atoms have been replaced by organic radicals. Organic peroxides are thermally unstable substances, which may undergo exothermic self-accelarating decomposition. In addition, they may have one or more of the following properties:

  • be liable to explosive decomposition;
  • burn rapidly;
  • be sensitive to impact or friction;
  • react dangerously with other substances;
  • cause damage to the eyes.

class6

Class 6 - Toxic (Poisonous)

AS 4452
These are substances liable either to cause death or serious injury or to harm human health if swallowed or inhaled or by skin contact.

class8

Class8 - Corrosive

AS 3780
Class 8 Corrosive Substances are substances which, by chemical action, will cause severe damage when in contact with living tissue, or, in the case of leakage, will materially damage, or even destroy, other goods.
